Q. Is the Mac version of VersaWorks 7 similar to the PC Version?
A. Yes, the two versions are virtually identical.

Q. Where do I download VersaWorks 7?
A. If DG Connect is installed on the local computer, install VersaWorks 7 using DG Connect Hub. If DG Connectis not already installed on the local computer, visit the Roland Download Center(https://downloadcenter.rolanddg.com) and search for VersaWorks 7. Download and install DG Connect Huband install VersaWorks 7 as indicated above.

Q. Can I run my VersaWorks 6 updater to get VersaWorks 7?
A. No, VersaWorks 7 requires a fresh installation.

Q. Can I install VersaWorks 7 on the same computer as VersaWorks 6?
A. Yes, both applications can be installed on the same computer. However, only one application can be run at a time.

Q. Can I transfer my VersaWorks 6 settings to my new VersaWorks 7?
A. Yes – Install VersaWorks 7, then use the backup/restore function in VersaWorks 6 to transfer backup data from VersaWorks 6 to VersaWorks 7.

Q. Do I need an internet connection to operate VersaWorks 7?
A. A one-time internet connection is necessary to activate the license for VersaWorks 7. Also, the internet is necessary for downloading configuration files such as profiles, printer authentication, etc.

Q. Will VersaWorks 6 profiles work in VersaWorks 7
A. Yes, the .rml files currently supported in VersaWorks 6 are also supported by VersaWorks 7.

Q. Will profiles in VersaWorks 7 work in VersaWorks 6?
A. No – profiles created in VersaWorks 7 are not compatible with VersaWorks 6.

Q. Can I export my .rvw files from VersaWorks 6 and import them into VersaWorks 7?
A. Yes, users can manually import a. rvw saved file from VersaWorks 6 into VersaWorks 7.

Q. Is online license authentication available for all models using DG Connect Hub?
A. No. For EU-1000MF, BF-16 and the cutting series (i.e., GR2-640), online license authentication is not available because Connect Hub does not support them. A user should perform the license authentication manually. For all devices other than those mentioned above, online license authentication is available because Connect Hub supports.
